The Third Age Trust is the national representative body for the Universities of Third Age (U3As) in the UK.  U3As are self-help, self-managed lifelong learning co-operatives for people no longer in full time work, providing opportunities for their members to share learning experiences in a wide range of interest groups and to pursue learning not for qualifications, but for fun.

WearTees U3A was established around 17 years ago and has grown rapidly to a current membership of approximately 260. Our meetings are held using the excellent facilities in the Bishop Auckland Town Hall on the third Tuesday of each month at 10am with the speaker usually starting at 10:30am. There is ample and inexpensive parking a few hundred yards away and some disabled parking bays are available within a few yards from the entrance to the Town Hall. The Town Hall is very accessible for people of all abilities. Visitors and prospective members are always very welcome – there is no need to book just let the reception desk know that you are attending and someone will be sure to look after you.

Currently our annual fees are £20 per person but this is reviewed each year. Some groups make a small additional charge for membership to cover operational costs as each group must be self funding.

If you would like to contact us via email then please write to wearteesu3a@gmail.com. We will be delighted to hear from you and generally will get back to you within a few days.
